Engineer


Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Recorded as one of the five engineers of the NZASM who left the Netherlands for the ZAR on 28 July 1887, accompanied by fellow engineers GH VAN DER MEULEN, JE VAN IJSENDIJK, J GROLL and T STEINMETZ. In September of 1890 he married Maria Elizabeth Jorrison. At the outbreak of the South African War he was still in service of the NZASM. He was later appointed to high post in the Nederlandsch-Indische Spoorweg Maatschkappij (see Wikipedia). He died in Den Haag, Netherlands. (Ploeger, 1994: 135; In Memorium, [1908]: 10)
