Polliack's Building
Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape

George Dix PEEK: Architect

Date:1878
Type:Commercial
Status:Demolished 1958
Street:Main Street (now Govan Mbeki Ave)

(Harradine 1985)

Originally designed for George Kettle in 1878 but became known as Polliack's Building after it was sold to H. Polliack & Co in 1896. Alterations were carried out to the ground floor at some point to provide a more modern shopfront but otherwise the building facade remained in original condition until it was demolished, for the Woolworths building, in 1958.
