(Pryce-Lewis list; SAAE&S Jnl Sep 1907:212; SAWW 191; 1890, 1891, 1895) Koch and Dixie’s corner in Burg Street, adjoining the old Manchester Hotel site, was dated 1891. Elaborate, it was a smaller scaled version of Lennon’s, with similar plasterwork, double pilasters, corner tower, dormer windows; the whole crowned by huge scroll-entwined cast-iron lettering.
