| This was one of East London 's most interesting architectural features; it was erected as an apartment block with shops below plus a storage basement. The railings and other ironwork were wrought and not of a stock pattern; originally it had been intended to glass in the roof; the entrances, facing onto the two streets, were of red brick (later plastered), with terracotta embellishments.
