(Pryce-Lewis list 15 455). Thomas Earl Skaife bought the estate from the Cape Marine Suburbs in 1911. He sold it to Friedrich Wilhelm Knacke in 1920, who named it Earl’s Dyke. Knacke demolished the original house in the 1920s and erected this homestead in its place. The estate was turned into a hotel c2002, called the Camps Bay Retreat.
