An interesting feature of this church is the finely carved face mounted into the original fanlight of the central window on the gable forming the front facade. The identity of the person featured in the carving has not yet been confirmed, but it might be Rev. John Love after whom Lovedale is named. The Lovedale UPCSA Manse stands adjacent to the church. Both buildings are outside the Lovedale campus.
