Click to view map Coordinates: | The 10 storey apartment block was the first high rise building to be constructed in Humewood. Peter Heugh recalled it to have been designed by Price and Hackner (a practice based in Durban) in the early 1950's. The architectural style of the block shows influences of the "Festival of Britain". The low Art Deco boundary wall to the front, which was sadly mostly removed in 2018, could possible have been from an earlier building. (Gerald Humphrey, April 2021) |
