| Ben van Niekerk and his family in Flagstaff, played a major role in the establishment of this congregation and the construction of the church building - including a substantial donation of £1 000. The details are recorded on the commemorative plaque dated 3 May 1953. The company AVBOB donated the church bell in 1957. The church is currently (2020) used by the "Amadath" NG Sending congregation and is relatively well maintained. See the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk in Lusikiski of 1945 for a similar, small scale, Cape Dutch Revival style church. (Submitted by Ika van Niekerk via William Martinson, April 2021) |
