Of Dutch birth. Arrived in Pretoria in 1897. After the Anglo-Boer War he set up practice as a building contractor. Three years thereafter he installed the modern sewerage systems of Pretoria, constructed bridges there and was responsible for the first basement construction in Pretoria, that of the Koedoe Arcade building. He is buried on the family farm Leeuwfontein in the Pretoria district. List of projects With photographs With notes
