Engineer for the NZASM. Of his first tasks was the prepararory work for the rail bridge across the Crocodile River. Thereafter he surveyed the rail line between Kaapmuiden and Barberton. In 1893 he was Engineer, head of the division of works at Waterval Boven and then In 1896 Chief Engineer in Pretoria. He was deported on British occupation of the ZAR in 1900. With WESTENBERG had 'Mea Volta' designed and built. He laid the foundation stone of the NZASM Eastern Line Head Offices in Waterval-Boven.
