A term coined by a group of South African architects in the late 1990s to describe their own work, a rich blend of African and European traditions. Their work is strongly contextual showing fine detailing and often innovative construction methods. One of the main exponents is Ora JOUBERT. This group shows a kinship with the Cape Vernacular.
