| Transcription of the Parktown & Westcliff Heritage Trust Plaque mounted on the street boundary wall. THE OUTSPAN This house was designed by Herbert Baker in 1902 for Major Walter Karri-Davies, an Australian and co-founder of the Imperial Light Horse Regiment. He was mentioned in despatches for gallantry in action in the Natal campaign and later entered Mafeking the night before the siege was lifted. He served without pay and refused all honours. See obituary of Walter David (Karri) Davies at Obituaries Australia. Submitted by William MARTINSON, October 2011.
