(PSB:155) Harmonie was an existing boarding establishment in 1905 and in that year was recognised as a residence by the Council of the Victoria College. In 1918 Harmonie was acquired by the council of the newly established University of Stellenbosch. Since then it has been under the direct administration of the University. Only female university students can be housed here. (Information from an exhibition on Stellenbosch University at the Sasol Art Museum in Stellenbosch, 2018.)
