(PSB:182)

A Grand 15 room Edwardian House featuring gables and bay windows. The house was constructed while Dr DF Malan (who later became South Africa's 4th prime minister)was the Dutch Reformed Minister here from 1906 to 1912. Thus making him the first occupant of the house. It is now privately owned.

The building became a National Monument in 1975 and is now a Provincial Heritage Site.

(Gerald Humphrey, April 2024)

Kesting 1979:799 gives 1917 as the date but this appears to be incorrect.
