The project is located within a pristine environment inside a private minimalism to achieve a dedicated artist’s live-in studio which evokes a spiritual shrine. The design accentuates the contrast to its surrounding natural environment but without being domineering of its natural surrounds, which are embraced through placing of the building, deck and openings, as well a hierarchy of refined thresholds between indoors and outdoors.

The elaborate interplay of white-smooth surfaces and full-wall glazing on most of the external walls allows a flood of diffuse daylight into the spaces, but with enriched mediation by the mature indigenous bushes/trees surrounding the studio-house. The interior is that of minimalism of material and enclosures, all detailed with refinement, creating spatial fluidity. In its totality it is a design of merit.
