An oak avenue of approximately 6.84 km was planted about 1910. It lends both dignity and aesthetic character to the streets along which it is situated:
From the entrance to the dam recreation resort via Calderbank Lane, Thorn Street, Van Riebeeck Street to Relief Street + Relief Street to Kruger Street + Kruger Street to Wolmarans Street + Wolmarans Street to Kock Street + Kock Street to Botha Street + From Botha Street to the entrance of the Agricultural Research Institute.
