(SAB Jan 1937:51) Originally built in 1937 additions were done in 1950. This was the Ackermans building, housing a branch of the shop on the ground floor and flats above (Simon Kirsch was one of the founding directors of Ackermans). Ackermans moved to other premises in the 1950s, and many businesses have occupied the shops since then, the current occupant (in March 2024) being a clothes shop. The flats are now used as offices.
