William WHITE was sending drawings of the building to Sophia GRAY in England. He was hoping she would arrange to send some of the features from England, especially windows. (Gutsche 1970:133)

The stone facade of the main wing of Founder's House is in stark contrast to the three inner walls of the quadrangle.

The dormer windows were added in 1913.
