Transcription of 2019 foundation stone:
This foundation stone,
unveiled on 22 September 2019,
marks a new beginning and ushers in a new era.
The lighthouse, once a beacon for ships,
became a beacon to guide the soul.
On 3 February 1900 the home for
Soldiers and Sailors was established.
In August 1978 the home morphed into the
Alcoholics Victorious (AV) home and closed
on 15 February 2015 due to financial constraints.
In December 2016 a new vision was conceived by
the resident minister, Reverend Olivia le Roux,
and the Lighthouse Renewal Centre was born
and officially opened on 18 March 2018.
