The Natal Observatory was located in the southwest corner. "This Herbarium was formed by the present excellently-qualified curator, Mr. J. Medley Wood, and a large building is being erected for its accommodation. One of the chief attractions of the Gardens is the Jubilee Conservatory, or Palm House, as it is called."
