It would appear from the first foundation stone that the church was built in 1893, the Cowan on the stone could be William Craig COWAN who was designing churches at the time, there is no record of Mather. The tower was built in 1908 along with other alterations and additions designed by James Buchanan PENTLAND-SMITH, these were inaugurated on 4 September 1909.
