The City of Cape Town's Heritage Building Plans Register (2013) lists a plan for the Presbyterian Church manse in 1897, and a plan for the church itself in 1902, both by Parker. (Arthur Radburn, August 2023)

The foundation stone was laid by Lord Alfred Milner on 28 August 1901.
