It appears as if the hotel was constructed in two phases. It is assumed, but as yet unconfirmed, that the first phase (1937) was for the block to the street and the second phase (1939) added the tower block. It has operated under the names "Albany Hotel " and "Mayfair Hotel" and currently (2021) is still in use as the Albany Hotel.
