Adapted from a design by J POWELL.

Foundation stone laid in 1850 by Colonel G MacKinnon, officially opened in 1856 by Bishop John Armstrong and consecrated by Bishop Henry Cotterill in 1861.

The bell tower was built in 1932, architect unknown.
