| (SAB Jun 1927:45) Poole's Hotel closed in 1930 and re-opened as the Hotel Assembly. (Walker 2015: 69) The Cape Town Guide by Dennis Edwards & Co published in 1897, included this hotel in their list of leading hotels in Cape Town and its environs (pg 109). It gave the address as New Street - later renamed Queen Victoria Street.
