Click to view map Coordinates: | Wealthy businessman William Marsh, who died in 1901, bequeathed money to build and maintain a children's home. His son, Rev T.E. Marsh, duly bought a portion of the 'Woodside' estate at Rondebosch in 1902, and built the Marsh Memorial Homes, which opened in 1903. A number of buildings were later added to the original complex.
