The A.M.D.G. on the foundation stone stands for Ad maiorem Dei gloriam or ad majorem Dei gloriam, is the Latin motto of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a religious order of the Catholic Church. It means "For the greater glory of God". (Wikipedia). So this church probably started out as Roman Catholic although several denominations are using it at the moment (2015).
