Bronze plaque set in random rubble surround marking the site of the drift bearing the inscription:

Cecil ''Bvekenya'' Barnard, legendary hunter and adventurer
constructed this drift in 1920. T. V. Bulpin's book, ''Ivory Trail''
is based on his life.

Hierdie ou drif is omstreeks 1920 aangelê deur die legendariese
jagter en avonturier, Cecil ''Bvekenya'' Barnard. T. V. Bulpin se
bekende boek, ''Ivory Trail'' is aan sy lewe gewy.

He is referenced in the entry on Crooks Corner which records that:

One of the more famous (or infamous ?) men who used to operate in this area was Stephanus Cecil Rutgert Barnard. Local people named him Bvekenya, which simply means "one who swaggers when he walks". He would often receive advice from the other veterans like William Pye that when he encountered problems during his ivory poaching adventures, he should head back to Crooks Corner.
