Colonial Mutual Building - Third Central Cape Town, Western Cape

This building replaced the second Colonial Mutual Building circa 1960. Inspected by Rennie in Oct 1977 and described as: Ground and 12 floors, concrete framed. Aluminium windows and bronze shop fronts, terrazzo cladding, built c1960. Building set back at various levels. (Rennie 1978:203) The building still carried the name plaque "Koloniale Mutual" (in Afrikaans only) next to the entrance in 2013, but it had been removed by 2015.
