On 15 July 1868 Paarl Boys High School began functioning with an enrolment of only four boys. From July 1868 to October 1869 the school was housed in a grain shed or warehouse on Zeederberg Square that belonged to Mr D Meyers. It was known as “The Paarl First Class Public School”.
