Built by Alex Calder (former mayor of Wynberg). It originally had 9 rooms. It was owned by the Calder family until 1953. The name changed many times: Sea Breeze Residential Hotel (1953-59), Belmont Residential Hotel (1960-69), Susan Chandler Nursing Home (1969-89), and then back to Castle Hill.
