| The site is on a koppie overlooking Bulawayo. The house was planned to take full advantage of both the views and the terrain. Random stone was used for plinths, chimney, loadbearing walls, etc., and as a landscaping feature in the garden. Floors are mosaic parquet blocks with "Compotile" to the kitchen and bathrooms areas. Roof is asbestos-cement slates and ceilings of interlocking softboard panels. A feature of the living area is the divider constructed of 1 in. [25 mm] square mild steel framing, with panels of laminated plastic pegboard and with cupboard fittings in Sapele mahogany. [Whale 1962:89] Books that reference Stone House
