Attributed in article to Herbert BAKER [the date makes it unlikely, rather his firm in Cape Town]. Originally built of pise de terre (rammed earth), with reeded ceilings and thatched roof, it was razed by fire on 29 January 1965. It was restored in its current form. (South African Railways and Harbors Magazine. Volume 71 (May 1965) p. 515).
