Transcription of blue plaque: JOHANNESBURG CULTURAL LEGACY 3 TREMATON PLACE Trematon Place was the first home of Johannesburg City Ballet. In 1960 it acquired the unused Parktown Boys School. It was here that professional ballet in the Transvaal began. Johannesburg City Ballet evolved into PACT Ballet. After incarnations as The State Theatre Ballet and South African Ballet Theatre, it is now Joburg Ballet, operating at the Joburg Theatre.
