The Wagendrift Dam is located on the Bushman's River, upstream from the town of Estcourt.It was built to regulate the river-flow and stabilise the irrigation pattern for farming. It is a multi-arch type dam with four thin-walled cupolas supported by five buttresses. It is scoured by a radial gate underflow. It has a height of 40m and a capacity of 59,7 cubic metres. It serves mainly for irrigation purposes, domestic water supply and industrial demands. It is scenically located and popular for water sport.
