Alterations (Pryce-Lewis list item 5169) The Cape Town Guide by Dennis Edwards & Co published in 1897, included this hotel in their list of leading hotels in Cape Town and its environs (pg 109). The hotel was sold to the Southern Life Association in February 1934, and by October that year it had been demolished. It was replaced by a new Southern Life Assoc Building (Walker 2015: 62).
