A symmetrical prefabricated wood-and-iron building, probably used as Administrative Headquarters when the British forces occupied the British cantonment of the then Robert's Heights immediately after the South African (Anglo-Boer) War, and served as such until 1933. In the 1930s it served as Headquarters to the South African Air Force. At a time thereafter it became the Headquarters of the Northern Transvaal Command in the renamed Voortrekkerhoogte.
