This teachers' training college was established by the Dutch Reformed Church, on the old Rust en Vreugd property at the corner of Roeland Street and Buitenkant. The college was built next to the house, which was used as a residence for the students.

Aerial survey photos show that the college building was demolished some time between 1958 and 1968.
