This synagogue was replaced by the new Synagogue in Howard Avenue. Wording on plaque: ON THIS SITE THE FIRST SYNAGOGUE IN BENONI WAS ERECTED IN 1908 AND USED FOR THE HIGH FESTIVALS THAT YEAR.
