Founded as a railway junction settlement for rail workers. Before the Anglo-Boer War Reformed worshippers first congregated in a local school building, thereafter the railways recreation hall before purchasing an erf in 1917 and erecting a small church building (Maeder & Zinn, 1917: 58), which this one replaced. 19 Mei 1938 | Die Gereformeerde kerkie op Noupoort is op hierdie dag in gebruik geneem. Iemand het jare gelede 'n replika van vuurhoutjies gemaak. In 2002 het die gemeente, wat toe net twee ouderlinge en twee diakens oorgehad het, besluit om te ontbind. Eredienste is nog tot 2008 in die Dopperkerk op Noupoort gehou. In 2009 is die kerk verkoop aan die Noupoort Christian Centre, waar dwelmverslaafdes gerehabiliteer is, op voorwaarde dat die Gereformeerde Kerk dit gebruik wanneer nodig. Die klok en orrel is verskuif na die Gereformeerde Kerk Graaff-Reinet. (Morné van Rooyen, May 2026) Translation 19 Mei 1938 | The Reformed church in Noupoort was inaugurated on this day. Someone made a replica out of matches years ago (see photograph). In 2002, the congregation, which then only had two elders and two deacons left, decided to disband. Communion services were still held in the 'Dopperkerk' in Noupoort until 2008. In 2009, the church was sold to the Noupoort Christian Centre, where drug addicts were rehabilitated, on the condition that the Reformed Church use it when necessary.
