Click to view map Coordinates: | Sited in the garden on the north side of the Dordrecht Municipal building the memorial commemorates those from the town and district who lost their lives in the First World War. The memorial comprises of a substantial sandstone cenotaph placed centrally within a square paved area accessed via a few steps on the west side. The cenotaph has a rectangular plan form with a shallow projecting plinth and is buttressed on the narrow ends. The main elevation faces the road and is notable for the finely crafted bronze plaque surmounted by a large cross, simply formed by slightly projecting the sandstone blocks beyond the face of the memorial.
