| When the first church collapsed, a new church had then already been in the planning stage but would only be built much later. The plans for this one originally had envisaged a structure 130feet (40m) long by 53feet (16m) wide, housing 1000 worshippers. In the end it was decided to erect a building to the internal measurements of 100ft x 40ft (305m x 12m). The builder was Walter Seymore from Marico. The congregation supplied labour and materials. For his work Seymore received £1250 (R2500). The church was consecrated on Sunday the 2nd of October 1887. In 1898 it was decided to add a wing to the building. This work was entrusted to W.S. Lampen, a member of the congregation. Quite a number of further alterations were to be carried out in years to follow. Though of minor nature they did change the look of the building continuously. Finally, on Sunday the 23rd of July 1960 the congregation gathered in the old church for the last time and in a solemn procession moved to yet another new one - the third - church building.
