Site of an early drift over the Nahoon River on the Old Transkei Road. Subsequently formalised with a concrete causeway. The roadway was then raised with a more substantial multiple arched concrete structure - pre 1932 - and was known as the Nahoon Causeway. Now known as the Abbotsford Causeway.
