St John the Evangelist, Church of
Sydenham, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

AB ADKIN: Architect

A hyperbolic, parabolic concrete shell was erected beneath which the walls were built. It is a square planned church with the seating arranged in semi-circular tiers. 'This is Durban's most exciting church' (Greig, 1971:111) .
