Stan FIELD: Architect

Date:1972
Type:Homestead
Status:Extant

"Stan Field’s career started with this house on the boulders at Khyber Rock. Field is still proud of this project where the concrete structure has withstood the test of time. To him, a fresh, young, and recent graduate, using pink granite aggregate seemed a necessary way of creating a building which contrasted with its natural organic surrounds through its geometric forms and volumes, but which still complemented its site."
(Daniel van der Merwe. Stan Field : For the love of architecture. Concrete Trends. November 2012:3)
