House at Klerksvlei Phuthaditjhaba, Free State

'Restored' to its 'original' condition, in the process losing features of later changes such as the scalloped sandstone gables and wagon-wheel ventilators. The period represented is that of the Anglo-Boer War because of the historical association of the house with the negotiation for the surrender of the Boer forces.
