Nothing is currently known about Langley's training. He worked in the Town Engineer's Departments in both Nigel and Benoni before 1927. In 1928 he designed the synagogue in Mayfair, Johannesburg. He also worked in Cape Town (n.d.) where his address was at 'Lansley's Buildings, Main St, Kenilworth.' Between 1935 and 1937 he was in Verulam in some capacity. He retired in 1938. In 1959 he is recorded as a retired member of the Transvaal Institute, although his address is given as Verulam, Natal
