Also referred to as WOLFE BARRY, John.
Son of the well-known English architect, Sir Charles Barry, John Wolfe Barry practised as a civil engineer. He received his education at Glenalmond College in Scotland and at King's College, London. Barry's connection with South Africa was in a civil engineering capacity when he was responsible for the design of and was acting engineer for the 'Natal Harbour' at Durban.
