Jameson was born in Durban and educated at Durban High School. His family later moved to Nottingham, England. Jameson articled there with the prominent architect Watson Fothergill in the period from 1895 to 1900. He married in 1903 and returned to South Africa to practice in East London where he entered into partnership with (AE?) GOODWIN in about 1908 (cf GOODWIN & JAMESON). The firm's offices were in Cuthbert's Building, East London.
In 1910 Jameson emigrated to Canada and settled in Vancouver, but within three years he had left Canada and moved to Brisbane, Australia where he found a position as a draftsman in the Office of City Architect, working under the direct supervision of City Architect Alfred H Foster. He was appointed Assistant City Architect and was given the freedom to design and sign drawings for several municipal structures in Brisbane which he designed in the Spanish Mission style. He died on 5 July 1949 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, in the Brisbane Intermediate Hospital of Peritonitis/Diverticulitis of the Colon.
