INGBER, John Joseph

Architect

Son of Isak Ingber. Educated in Austria, Italy and South Africa. Received a 'Doctorate in Architecture from the Higher School of Architecture, Rome' (ISAA mem lists) and gained office experience in Rome in the office of Dr Foludi. He came to South Africa in May 1930 and was employed in the office of MG DAMSTRA in Cape Town from that date. He later became Damstra's partner (cf DAMSTRA & INGBER). Married Dr V Schliffer of Johannesburg in 1947. He must have moved to Johannesburg, for in 1958 his address is recorded as being 52 Desborough Ave, Winston Ridge and 1959 his address was 503 Volkskas Buildings, 76, Market Street, Johannesburg.
